From the Logo Herky pays tribute to the storied men’s and women’s basketball programs at the University of Iowa. Herky is wearing #22 which fans will immediately associate with the greatest of all-time, Caitlin Clark, who regularly shoots (and scores) “from the logo”. #22 was also worn by Hall of Famer Bill Seaberg during his time as a member of the “Fabulous Five” in the 1950s. That number is now retired and hanging from the Carver Hawkeye Arena rafters…soon to be joined by the great Caitlin Clark!
Automotive painter for 32 years. I’ve been part of Herky on Parade family for 20 years. Over the years, I’d say I’ve painted 12 Herky statues.
