Gene Wilder’s connection to the University of Iowa was the original inspiration for this Herky. With Wilder’s iconic role as Willy Wonka, we decided to honor his character by creating Herky Wilder.
We are very excited to participate as artists in our third Herky on Parade. We appreciate the opportunity to use our creativity outside of our regular professions. Each Herky on Parade marks a significant milestone for us as we grew our family and moved permanently to Iowa City. We have two boys, ages 19 and 12, and we are loyal fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
