West High opened its doors in 1968 and is recognized at the local, state, and national levels as a leader in the quality of education provided for students. West students annually lead the state in ACT results, National AP Scholars, and National Merit Scholars. A culture of excellence at all levels pervades the school community with a continued focus on raising the bar for all students.
